Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of the Turkish Republic gifted His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, Turkey’s indigenously manufactured electric car — Togg.
The gift was as a gesture of friendship.
Erdogan presented a Pamukkale white Togg to the President of the UAE. The two leaders examined the vehicle in the courtyard of the palace.
Photos and videos shared online showed both leaders can be seen standing next to the EV.
In one of the pictures, Erdogan is seen briefing Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed about the details of the car.
Sheikh Mohamed expressed his appreciation to the Turkish President for the generous gesture, and wished Turkey and its people further progress, growth and prosperity.
He also conveyed his best wishes for the future success of Turkey’s national projects and industries, and for their contribution to the country’s sustainable development and economic growth.
Sheikh Mohamed, accompanied by President Erdogan, drove the car in the courtyard of Qasr Al Watan while being briefed on its specifications and environmental credentials.
The standard range of Togg model T10X starts at just over $50,000, while the long-range model will go for $64,000.
Turkish automobile group first introduced the electric vehicle prototype in 2019. It aims to produce one million vehicles in five different models by 2030.
