The UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation praised a Deliveroo Food Delivery motorbike rider for his humane gesture of removing barriers from the middle of a round about in Dubai so that cars can pass easily without any accidents.
The ministry said on Twitter, “The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation followed the video in which Mr. Waqas Sarwar appeared removing barriers from the street to protect drivers, and Khalil Al-Khoury, Undersecretary for Human Resources Affairs, received him, honored him and thanked him for the good step he took. We are proud of Waqas and everyone who does good work.”
The incident took place at Dubai Silicon Oasis.
The Pakistani national said during an interview with ministry that while he was riding along the road he saw barriers blown by the winds in the middle of the road.
Waqas parked his bike on the side of the road and removed all the barriers.
He said he wasn’t thinking of anything but for the safety of others.
A person from the nearby tower filmed him doing the noble deed, which apparently went viral on social media platform.
The humble resident of UAE for 12 years had no idea that his video had gone viral.
A restaurant staffer in a mall notified him that his video is doing the rounds on social media.
Khalil Al-Khoury, Undersecretary for Human Resources Affairs, invited Waqas to appreciate his good work.
The ministry handed him a certificate and a gift bag.
Waqas said he wasn’t expecting he would be famous, and said that he would continue to do good deeds no matter what.
