The Dubai Police Traffic General Department has honoured Mrs Ellie Marie Perrier for cooperating with the department through the 'We Are All Police’ programme.
Colonel Muhammad Al Qaydi, Acting Deputy Director of the General Department of Traffic, presented a certificate of thanks and appreciation to Mrs Perrier, emphasising the importance of collaboration between the community and police.
He further reaffirmed the Dubai Police's keenness to strengthen the community partnership concept and reinforce the sense of responsibility among individuals.
Col. Al Qaydi noted that a significant number of community members experience situations on the roads that can endanger their lives or the lives of others due to reckless drivers, indicating that the public can report reckless drivers and traffic violations conveniently via the Dubai Police smart app or calling 'We Are All Police' on (901).
"We don't issue fines against individuals after immediately receiving the report. We first verify the report, check available cameras and systems, and contact to warn violators before issuing any tickets," he confirmed.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Perrier thanked the Dubai Police for this recognition, encouraging community members to engage actively in the 'We Are All Police' programme and report any negative behaviour.
Early this year, the Dubai Police, as represented by Al Qusais Police Station, honoured two men for their honesty after they had separately handed over a total of Dhs52,500 to the station.
Colonel Sultan Abdullah Al Aweys, Acting Director of Al Qusais Police Station, honoured Nabeel Amer Fairuz Khan, for handing over Dhs43,000 which he found in the jurisdiction area of the station, and Shivno Changanasiri, for handing Dhs9,500 over to the police station.
Praising the honesty of the two men, Al Aweys affirmed that the honouring came as part of Dubai Police’s constant keenness on honouring those who collaborate with them in appreciation of their positive role in the society.
In January this year, the Dubai Police honoured Upendra Nath Chaturvedi, an Indian national resident, for handing over Dhs134,930 cash he had found in a public place to the Al Raffa Police Station. Colonel Omar Mohammed Bin Hammad, Director of the Al Raffa Police Station, praised Chaturvedi for his honesty and for handing over the large sum to the nearest police station.
Col. Bin Hammad also awarded Chaturvedi a certificate of appreciation to emphasise the importance of collaboration between the community and police.
