Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest edifice, was emblazoned with the colours of Pakistan to celebrate the country’s Independence Day on Aug.14 on Monday.
Burj Khalifa said on social media, “#BurjKhalifa lights up to celebrate The Islamic Republic of Pakistan’s Independence Day. Wishing the people of Pakistan a day filled with pride, unity and prosperity as you celebrate the rich heritage and achievements of your great nation. May the future hold even greater success and happiness for all Pakistanis. Happy Independence Day!”
UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has sent a message of congratulations to President Dr. Arif Alvi of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on the occasion of his country's Independence Day.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court, dispatched similar messages to President Alvi, and Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar on the occasion.
Pakistani expatriates in the UAE celebrated the Independence Day with traditional zeal and national fervour.
The expressed their love for the motherland and prayed for the prosperity of the country.

Mian Umar Ibrahim, a businessman living in Dubai, celebrated the mega event along with his family and friends.
“I celebrated the Independence Day with my parents and friends. It was a great pleasure to celebrate the cake cutting ceremony by with beloved mother ad father Mohammad Ibrahim Haji, founder of the MIH group.
“We are proud Pakistanis and as per my father's message we must do something better to make our country proud of us and by the grace of Allah we are doing our best,” he added.
