The tallest building in the world, Burj Khalifa lit up in the tricolour — saffron, white and green — to celebrate India’s 75th Independence Day on Monday evening.
Burj Khalifa said on Instagram, “Tonight, Burj Khalifa commemorates the Republic of India on their Independence Day. Wishing the people of India a day filled with celebration and pride as you celebrate the rich history and diverse culture of your nation. May India continue to shine brightly with progress, unity and prosperity. Happy Independence Day!”
The Consulate in Dubai wrote on Twitter, “World’s tallest building celebrated the spirit of #HarGharTiranga watch the spectacular projection of #Tricolor from #BurjKhalifa and enthusiasm among #Indiancommunity in #Dubai on the occasion of #IndependenceDayIndia.”
Earlier in the day, UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has sent a congratulatory message to Indian President Droupadi Murmu on the occasion of her country's Independence Day, which is celebrated on 15th August.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court, dispatched similar messages to President Murmu and to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion.
