The UAE weather body said that temperature in Sharjah’s Al Dhaid region reached 50°C on Friday.
The authorities urged residents to hydrate themselves as high humidity made it difficulty to stand in open spaces.
The authorities said that separate areas of the country on Friday witnessed fog formation and heavy rainfall, because of the country being affected by weak surface pressure systems accompanied by an extension of an air altitude in the upper layers of the atmosphere, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said.
Fog formed on Madinat Zayed, Liwa Road and Sheikh Khalifa International Street towards Ruwais, Turaif and Mirfa in Al Dhafra region, as well as on Arjan and Abu Al Abyad Island in Abu Dhabi, the NCM added.
The NCM also indicated that the lowest temperature recorded in the country on Friday was 27.2°C in Rakna area in Al Ain, while the highest temperature was 50.3°C in Dhaid, Sharjah.
The Centre appealed to individuals to be careful and exercise caution while driving during fog formation and rainfall that affects the horizontal visibility, especially along the inland and coastal areas. They are also advised to stay away from places flooded with rainwater and surface-run-offs.

In the same context, the Abu Dhabi Police called on drivers to be careful while driving in fog, and to adhere to the variable speed shown on the electronic signboard. The Police on Friday morning activated reducing speeds system to 120 km/h on Al Ain-Dubai Road towards Al Hayer.
The NCM has also expected that the weather on Saturday is expected to be fair to partly cloudy at times and low clouds will appear eastward and northward. Humid by night and Sunday morning over some areas especially in coastal areas with a probability of fog or mist formation.
The winds will be light to moderate, southeasterly becoming to northwesterly, freshening at times during daytime, at a speed of 10 – 25 reaching up to 40 Km/hr. The sea will be slight in the Arabian Gulf and rough by morning, becoming moderate to slight in Sea of Oman.
According to the expectations of the NCM, the temperatures expected on Saturday will be in the range of 31-46°C in Abu Dhabi, 33-46°C in Dubai, 30-46°C in Sharjah, 32-44°C in Ajman, 29-45°C in Umm Al Quwain, 30-47°C in Ras Al Khaimah, 30-37°C in Fujairah, 31-47°C in Al Ain, 29-48°C in Liwa and 29-44°C in Al Ruwais.
The weather on Sunday is expected to be fair to partly cloudy and low clouds will appear over the eastern coast by morning and some cloud formation eastward by afternoon over the mountains. Humid by night and Monday morning over some coastal and internal areas with a probability of fog or mist formation.
The winds will be light to moderate, southeasterly to northeasterly, freshening at times causing blowing dust during daytime, at a speed of 10 – 25 reaching up to 40 Km/hr. The sea will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and in the Sea of Oman.
The Monday’s weather is expected to be fair to partly cloudy and low clouds will appear over the eastern coast by morning. Humid by night and Tuesday morning over some coastal and internal areas with a probability of mist formation.
The winds will be light to moderate, southeasterly to northeasterly, freshening at times causing blowing dust during daytime, at a speed of 10 – 25 reaching up to 40 Km/hr. The sea will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and in the Sea of Oman.
The weather on Tuesday is expected to be fair to partly cloudy. Low clouds will appear over the eastern coast by morning, may be convective over the mountains by afternoon. Humid by night and on Wednesday morning over some coastal and internal areas.
The winds will be light to moderate, southeasterly to northeasterly, freshening at times causing blowing dust during daytime, at a speed of 10 – 25 reaching up to 40 Km/hr. The sea will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and in the Sea of Oman.
