A video clip from a surveillance camera doing rounds on social media, shows a horrific accident caused by a Kuwaiti fashionista resulting in the death of two people and the injury to two others.
“The fashionista Fatima Al Moumen, who caused the horrific accident at dawn on Thursday has been jailed for a period of ten days, as a precautionary measure, pending investigation,” says a statement of Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior.
The General Administration of Relations and Security Media at the Ministry of Interior stated that the tragic traffic accident occurred at dawn on Thursday (24/8/23) at 3:17 am at the intersection of Al Soor Street with King Fahd Bin Abdulaziz Road, and resulted in the death of two people and the injury of two others.
Injures were taken to the hospital and they are still receiving treatment.
The ministry stated in its statement that ten charges were brought against the fashionista, which are: (manslaughter, accidental injury, driving a vehicle under the influence of alcoholic beverages or narcotics, exceeding the prescribed speed limit, exceeding the red light, driving a vehicle recklessly, driving a vehicle with invalid insurance, driving a vehicle without a licence, causing damage to the property of others, causing damage to public property).
The ministry also stated that the driver's escort was released after being imprisoned for 4 days pending investigation in accordance with the Code of Criminal Procedures and Trials.
The Ministry indicated that an investigation committee was formed to investigate the circumstances which led to the accident and has registered a case.
