Abu Dhabi City Municipality has appealed to construction and demolition companies, as well as site workers, to adhere to essential safety and security precautions for the welfare of pedestrians and neighboring properties during construction or demolition activities.
This initiative aims to uphold the health and safety of all community members. The call followed a series of field campaigns undertaken by the municipality over a span of five continuous days via its sub-centers: City Municipality Center, Madinat Zayed Municipality Center, Al Wathba Municipality Center, Shahama Municipality Center, Musaffah Municipality Center, and Municipal Presence Center - Baniyas.
Each center, within its geographic purview, aimed to educate workers at construction and demolition sites about the importance of adhering to all safety standards and requirements during their operations.
Throughout the campaigns, the municipality identified and educated those who failed to observe the safety and security precautions required for protecting pedestrians and nearby buildings during construction and demolition activities.
Violators, property owners, and contractors were instructed on the necessity to abide by the law and implement security precautions for the safety of pedestrians and neighboring buildings during the execution of their tasks.
In addition, the campaigns disseminated a series of educational materials via the municipality's official social media accounts and the "Freejna" app, and violators from construction and demolition companies were contacted over the phone to enlighten them about the importance of providing security and safety precautions for pedestrians and surrounding buildings. Awareness text messages were also sent to the target groups as part of these campaigns.
