The security teams at the Abu Dhabi Police arrested two persons, a Latino and an Arab national, in possession of five kilogrammes of cocaine with the intention of peddling in the country.
Busting the pushers represented a big strike to an overseas gang targeting Middle Eastern countries by trafficking and promoting narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, Brigadier Taher Gharib Al Dhaheri, Director of the Anti-Narcotics Directorate at the Abu Dhabi Police, said. Brigadier Al Dhaheri revealed that the operation was successful through proactive monitoring of the suspects and verified information.
They were arrested red-handed in a tight security plan through which their movements were under surveillance until they were nabbed in possession of narcotics. He stressed commitment of the Anti-Narcotics Directorate to combating this toxic scourge, protecting young people from its dangers and contributing strongly to preserving the gains of security and the safety of society.
Al Dhaheri called on members of the community to reinforce collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Police in combating drugs, by reporting any suspicious activities to the competent security department via 8002626, to help ensure community security.
