Woman fined Dhs20,000 for sending obscene messages to a man on WhatsApp

Al Ain Court of First Instance obligated a woman to pay Dhs20,000 to a man whom she insulted by sending obscene words via WhatsApp.
The details of the case date back to an earlier time, when a person filed a lawsuit against a woman, requesting that she be obligated to pay him compensation of Dhs150,000 for the moral damages he incurred, in addition to obligating her to pay fees and expenses of the lawsuit.
The appellant said that the woman insulted him and sent him obscene words via WhatsApp.
She was convicted for that incident according to a criminal ruling.
The court stated that the criminal ruling convicted the woman of insulting the complainant who suffered moral damage, so she is legally obligated to compensate him for those damages and then estimated the compensation at Dhs20,000 for all the moral damages he incurred.
