Heavy rain fell on separate areas across the UAE on Tuesday as a result of the country being affected by unstable weather conditions.
Light to moderate rains fell on Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah and Filli in Sharjah, while heavy rain fell on Al Fo’ah and Bida Bint Saud in Al Ain and other areas. The lowest temperature of 23.6 degrees Celsius was recorded this morning in Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah at 3am UAE local time.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) called on motorists to be cautious while driving during the rainfall and low horizontal visibility caused by rains and sand-stirring winds. It also called on them to stay away from large puddles and flooded valleys.
Meanwhile, the Abu Dhabi Police called on motorist to take caution because of the rainy weather conditions and to abide by the varying speed limits as shown on the electronic traffic signs.
The weather on Wednesday through Saturday is expected to be clear to partly cloudy at times, with low clouds appearing over the eastern coast in the morning, the NCM said.
Some cumulus clouds are likely to form in the east and south in the afternoon, it added. The weather, however, will be humid at night with a chance of fog or light fog over some coastal and inland areas, it said.
Light to moderate southeasterly to northeasterly winds will blow, turning to active and sand-stirring at times during the day at 10 to 25 and up to 40 km/h, while the sea will have regular waves in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
