Dubai Civil Defence teams were able to distinguish a fire that broke out in a residential tower located in Sport City on Monday morning. No injuries were reported, an official source confirmed.
The operations room at the Civil Defence received a report at 04:06 am, indicating that a residential tower in Sport City had caught fire. Instantly, a firefighting team was dispatched from Al Barsha Civil Defense Station as a first responder, which arrived at scene in six minutes. Support squads were also dispatched from Dubai Investment and Jebel Ali stations, as the fire was assessed as medium.
The competent teams proceeded with evacuation and firefighting operations immediately, a spokesperson said.
He added that at 05:23 am, the field commander of the incident confirmed that fire was under control, and at 06:38 am, he announced that the accident was completely over without recording any injuries.
The scene was handed over to the competent teams to proceed with cooling operations.
