Sharjah Police arrested an Arab national who deceived women by promoting home massage services in return for cheap prices through a social media platform, for the purpose of blackmail and threats to obtain money.
Details date back to the time when information was received from the operations room alerting that there was an Arab suspect in his forties, promoting offers for an unlicensed massage centre via “Snapchat” for only Dhs100.
After verifying the information, the specialised security teams set a trap, raided the specified location and arrested the suspect red-handed.
On being interrogated, he confessed to his crime, and the case was referred to the competent authorities.
Sharjah Police called on all individuals to be contribute to maintaining security and stability from the standpoint of social responsibility, to cooperate with police agencies, and to report via the following numbers: Najid Service (800151) in the event of noticing any suspicious behaviour which violates the law.
The police pointed out that in case of being defrauded or threatened, the victim should contact (065943228), or communicate with the specialised teams via WhatsApp on the number (0559992158).
They also called on those who have any information about any criminal phenomena or incidents, to provide it via the toll-free number (80040).
