Abu Dhabi Family, Civil and Administrative Cases Court ordered a person to pay Dhs33,600 to another after the latter seized Dhs28,600 from him, by claiming that he could get visas for his relatives, but the victim discovered he had deceived him, so he reported him and the Public Prosecution convicted him.
The details of the case date back to the time when a man filed a lawsuit against another, demanding to obligate him to return Dhs28,600, in addition to material and moral compensation of Dhs22,000, a 5% interest from the date of filing the lawsuit until full payment, and the fees and expenses of the lawsuit and lawyer’s fees.
The appellant said that the appellee defrauded him and took Dhs28,600 from him, after claiming that he could obtain visas for his relatives.
The court explained that according to Article 318 of the Civil Transactions Law, the appellee must return Dhs28,600 to the appellant, stressing that the case papers proved that the he caused him material and moral damage which deserve a compensation of Dhs5,000 for all damages he incurred.
