Sporadic rains lashed various areas of the UAE on Saturday due to the country being affected by a surface low depression from the East, and a surface high depression from the West, accompanied by a high air depression in the upper layers of the atmosphere.
Light and moderate rains fell on Al Khulaibia, on the north of Masafi, on Taiba in Fujairah, on Safani, on Al Ghayl in Ras Al Khaimah and on other areas of the country.
The lowest temperature on the country, 20°C, was recorded on Saturday morning in Rakna in Al Ain at 06:15, UAE local time.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) indicated that the weather from Sunday to Wednesday would be clear to partly cloudy at times, with some afternoon cumulus clouds which will likely be eastward, with temperatures slightly dropping, and chances of light fog on some inland and coastal areas
Winds according to the NCM are expected to be northwestern to northeastern light to moderate with speeds ranging between 10 to 20 up to 30 kilometres/hour and the waves will be light in the Arabian Gulf and in the Oman Sea.
The NCM appealed to everyone to be cautious while driving through rains, and with zero horizontal visibility due to rains and the dust-stirring winds.
It also advised all to keep away from water gathering places and valleys’ runoff.
Abu Dhabi Police also called on motorists to exercise caution during rainy weather conditions and adhere to speed limits shown on electronic signboards.
