The ‘Tarahum - for Gaza’ campaign was launched on Sunday morning in the capital Abu Dhabi, to provide relief to the Palestinian people by the war in the Gaza Strip, under the supervision of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority and with the participation of hundreds of volunteers of various nationalities.
Rashid Al Mansouri, Deputy Secretary-General for Local Affairs at the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, said that 13,000 parcels will be prepared by end of Sunday, as part of the ‘Tarahum - for Gaza’ campaign, which continues until four in the afternoon, as the campaign will continue across the Emirates during the coming days and for several weeks.
Since the morning, hundreds of volunteers from citizens and residents and from different age groups have flocked to the Abu Dhabi Ports Hall in Mina Zayed to participate in mobilizing relief funds, and the campaign supervisors were forced to divide the volunteers into several groups to allow everyone to participate in the campaign.
The campaign aims to establish centers to collect and mobilize humanitarian relief packages, with the participation of humanitarian and charitable institutions, volunteer centers, the private sector, all sectors of society in the country, and the media.
The packages include three types: clothing packages, children’s packages that include different types of powdered milk, biscuits, health supplies for children, and food packages. Each food parcel consists of 14 types of food items, including flour, oil, dates, beans, chickpeas, peas, corn, tuna, canned meat, tea, salt, sugar, and others.
On the other hand, dozens of families took the initiative to donate food supplies to relief the Palestinians in Gaza, as part of the campaign, by handing over their donations to the collection center in the Abu Dhabi Ports Hall.
