Al Ain Court of First Instance obligated a young man to pay Dhs5,200 to another, from whom he took two laptops to sell on his page on social networking sites.
After selling the laptops, the suspect refrained from handing over the prices to the owner, under the pretext that he was going through a financial hardship.
The details of the case date back to an earlier time when a young man filed a lawsuit against another, in which he requested that he be obligated to pay him Dhs6,000. He also requested the court to order him to pay the fees and expenses of the lawsuit.
The appellant submitted a copy of a WhatsApp conversation proving what happened between them, so both parties to the dispute were summoned.
The appellant reportedly amended his request to Dhs5,200, and the appellee admitted that he owed the amount and requested that he be given a grace period to pay. Then the court obliged the appellee to pay the appellant the claimed amount.
