The 42nd edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) is not only providing opportunities to books lovers of experiencing their favourite genre from a variety of collections but also giving them a platform to display their skills and talent to the global audiences.
True passion can win you many accolades and awards as it did for a young Indian lady, Jaleena Hussain from Kerala, who presented the largest handwritten Quran in Arabic calligraphy during the Sharjah International Book Fair.
Jaleena got the certificate from the UAE-based Arabian World Records organisation for her efforts during the event on Thursday.
The handwritten Quran measured 28.5 inches in length, 22.5 inches in width, 4.5 inches in height and weighed 30.265kg.
Speaking to Gulf Today, Jaleena said, “Arabic Calligraphy is my passion and it took me less than a year to complete this noble work. This is the first time I displayed my work at the global exhibition.”
