The Dubai Criminal Court sentenced a gang of three Asians to three months in jail to be followed by deportation for beating an Asian with iron rods and causing him injuries that prevented him from doing his work for over 20 days and a permanent disability estimated at four per cent.
The incident, which took place in Al Rifaa area in Dubai, dated back to November last year when an Arab reported to the police that a person had been assaulted with iron rods.
He stated that while he was walking on a road, he saw three Asians assaulting a person and that when he approached, the suspects ran away.
The man stated in the interrogations that he saw the victim bleeding with bruises in various parts of his body, adding that he called an ambulance, which took the victim to the hospital for medical treatment and called the police accordingly.
A policeman stated in the interrogations that a team of detectives managed to arrest the suspects. On interrogation, they all admitted that they that they were bootleggers and that the victim was also a bootlegger but was selling alcoholic beverages in their area.
One of the suspects stated that on the day of the incident, he warned the victim of selling alcoholic beverages in the same area but the latter insulted him and expelled him from the place.
On the same day, he agreed with the others to beat the victim and expel him from the place, he added.
According to the forensic laboratory report, the victim suffered several bruises in various parts of his body in addition to fractures in the bone of his left forearm and middle finger of his left hand.
The victim also cannot use or fold the palm of his left hand, which is considered a permanent disability estimated at four per cent.
