Xiang Li, Executive Director of China Media Group's Middle East Regional Office, stressed that participating in the Global Media Congress (GMC) is an important opportunity to exchange ideas, experiences, and advanced technologies, including environmental media, among participants from different parts of the world.
She added in a statement to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) that China Media Group (CMG) is committed to supporting environmental media and providing rich and useful media content on environmental issues. She pointed out that the group is showcasing the latest digital media technologies that support the environment at the Congress, including virtual reality, augmented reality, artificial intelligence, high-definition photography, and video.
She stated that China Media Group showcases compelling environmental media stories, including Chinese youth's ocean clean-up efforts, a village's waste-to-energy transformation, and a company's carbon emission reduction technology.
China Media Group's participation in the Global Media Congress reflects its commitment to supporting the media and raising global environmental awareness, she added.

“Through its involvement, China Media Group aims to exchange ideas and experiences with other media organisations worldwide, contributing rich and meaningful environmental media content," she noted.
The China Media Group is the largest media group in China, comprising several distinguished media institutions.
The media plays a vital role in uniting people and promoting effective communication, stressed Wang Yibiao, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of China’s People's Daily newspaper.
In his statements to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) on the sidelines of the second edition of the Global Media Congress (GMC), Wang Yibiao said that the Congress constitutes a platform to enhance global media exchange and cooperation, especially in light of its focus on sustainable development.
He underscored the importance of this edition of the GMC, which is addressing climate change and global warming, and its role in supporting the objectives of the UAE-hosted COP28.
As an important member of the Global South, Wang explained, the UAE plays a key role in promoting media cooperation between the countries of that region. China and Arab countries, including the UAE, are active members in the Global South.
The Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the People's Daily emphasised the UAE’s active role in the "Belt and Road Initiative”, highlighting China’s keenness to cooperate with all parties, including the UAE, to build a better future through joint cooperation and sustainable development.
Wang Yibiao concluded his remarks by expressing his hope that the GMC would contribute to strengthening media cooperation between the UAE, China and the countries participating in the Congress.
Global media lauds congress
International media praised the second edition of the Global Media Congress, which began in Abu Dhabi, attributing its success to the fruitful inaugural edition of last year.
