His Highness Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, stressed that charity work has become a key element in the societal culture of the UAE and Ras Al Khaimah, as it is a reflection of the country's development and firm belief in the importance of giving.
This came as Sheikh Saud received Tracy Reynolds, Consul-General of Canada in Dubai and the Northern Region, along with the members of the organising committee of the 13th RAK Terry Fox Run, the proceeds of which were presented to the UAE University in Al Ain to complete its scientific research on cancer.

Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr expressed his happiness at hosting this annual charity event in Ras Al Khaimah, lauding the efforts of the organising committee and participants who contributed to the success of the event, which has become one of the main activities in the emirate’s events schedule.
The race was organised last Friday on Al Qawasim Corniche, under the patronage of the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, in cooperation with Saqr Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi Charity and Humanitarian Foundation.
The run is organised in memory of Canadian athlete Terry Fox, who had a leg amputated due to bone cancer in his youth.
