After receiving over 160 local and international awards and seven global sustainability certificates, Dubai Police launched its annual sustainability report during the COP28 conference, reinforcing its position as a worldwide leader in advanced law enforcement.
The annual sustainability report provides a comprehensive view of the Dubai Police's sustainable initiatives, focusing on technological advancements and promoting social well-being.
The report adheres to the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards and the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) principles for corporate social responsibility. It consists of five chapters, each highlighting different areas of focus.
The report's first chapter highlights Dubai Police's efforts in utilising technology to enhance community resilience, while the second chapter delves into the Force's role in promoting well-being and peacebuilding. Additionally, the third chapter underscores the significance of environmental conservation and Dubai Police's continuous endeavour to achieve a zero-carbon police force.
Furthermore, the fourth chapter of the report focuses on talent empowerment and the pursuit of equality and inclusivity as fundamental pillars for constructing a sustainable future. It also sheds light on the role of the economy in police operations as a catalyst in achieving sustainable security development and striking a comprehensive balance among environmental, economic, and social dimensions.
Three community members honoured for devotion in volunteering
Dubai Police honoured the top three community volunteers or their remarkable achievement of having the highest record of participation in the volunteer initiatives organised by the force across the emirate and praised their outstanding commitment and dedication to serving the community and spreading happiness.
Major General Dr. Abdul Quddus Abdul Razzaq Al Obaidli, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Excellence and Pioneering Affairs in Dubai Police, presented certificates of commendation to the three outstanding volunteers: Mrs. Aisha Ali Mohammed, Nasser Ammar Ahmed, and Mohammed Kamal Mohammed.
Maj. Gen. Al Obaidli stressed that this gesture was a recognition of the volunteers' unwavering dedication to volunteering in various events organised by the Dubai Police. “It is part of the Force's ongoing commitment to honour community members from diverse backgrounds for their positive contributions and to cultivate a culture of volunteerism in society”, he said.
It’s worth noting that Dubai Police recorded a remarkable engagement of volunteers through its volunteering platform, with a total of 136,602 volunteering hours during the first half of 2023.
The dedicated volunteers actively participated in various humanitarian and community initiatives, playing a pivotal role in enhancing security, safety, and bringing happiness to the community.
Dubai Police's volunteer platform offers a wide range of opportunities and experiences for volunteers to engage in and provide humanitarian services across various domains in society. Moreover, it plays a significant role in enhancing awareness and cultivating a culture of volunteerism.
