UAE likely to witness further drop in temperature

The lowest temperature of 7.6°C was recorded for the second day in a row in Rakna in Al Ain City of Abu Dhabi at 07:00am on Wednesday.

According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), Thursday’s weather is expected to be partly cloudy and cloudy at times in some coastal, northern and eastern areas with a chance of rainfall and a drop in temperature. Moderate to active and sand-stirring northwesterly winds will blow, turning to strong at times offshore at 20 to 35 and up to 50 km/h, while the sea will have moderate waves in the morning but will become rough to very rough at times in the Arabian Gulf compared to light to moderate waves in the Sea of Oman.

Friday’s weather will be partly cloudy and cloudy at times in some coastal and northern areas with a chance of light rains and further drop in temperature. Moderate to active and sand-stirring northwesterly winds will blow, turning to strong at times offshore at 15 to 30 and up to 50 km/h, while the waves will be very tough to rough in the Arabian Gulf but will be moderate to regular in the Sea of Oman.

Saturday’s weather will be clear to partly cloudy at times with low clouds appearing over some coastal and western areas. It, however, will be humid at night and on Sunday morning in some inland and western areas with a chance of light fog. Light to moderate northwesterly to northeasterly winds will blow, turning to active offshore at times in the west, while the waves will be rough in the west during the day but will have moderate to regular waves in the Arabian Gulf compared to regular to moderate waves in the Sea of Oman.

Sunday’s weather is expected to be clear to partly cloudy at times with low clouds appearing over the islands and some western coastal areas and a rise in temperature. The weather, however, will be humid at night and on Monday morning in some inland areas, especially in the west. Southeasterly to northeasterly and northwesterly winds will blow, turning to active at times, while the waves will be regular to moderate waves at times in the Arabian Gulf and regular in the Sea of Oman.
