Princess Salma, daughter of Jordanian King Abdullah II, participated in the fifth airdrop of urgent medical materials in northern Gaza on Thursday.
The Jordanian Armed Forces carried out a fifth airdrop of urgent medical materials and supplies using parachutes to the Jordanian Field Hospital in Gaza.
The crew of the plane, which operated under royal directives, was accompanied by Princess Salma Bint Abdullah II.
The Royal Air Force plane crew was able to airdrop boxes containing medical and therapeutic supplies field hospital’s work in Gaza.

The Armed Forces also confirmed that they are continuing to provide various forms of support to the people in the Gaza Strip, to relieve them of the difficult conditions they are exposed to, as a result of the continuing Israeli war raging in the Strip.
This step comes in implementation of the royal directives to increase the capacity of medical personnel and to enhance and develop the capabilities of hospitals to provide medical and therapeutic services.
Pictures of Princess Salma were circulated as she participated in an airdrop of medical supplies in the northern Gaza Strip. They received great interaction among social media users.
Princess Salma holds the rank of first lieutenant pilot in the Royal Air Force, according to the official Jordanian agency, and made history in 2020, when she became the first female military pilot in Jordan.
Queen Rania wrote on Instagram, “Salma with her brothers in arms of the Royal Jordanian Air Force during the fifth airdrop of urgent medical supplies to Northern Gaza. God bless you all.”
Footage showed Princess Salma preparing herself before boarding the plane that would go to the Gaza Strip, as well as speaking with her crew about details of the quantities of medical aid.
Princess Salma Bint Abdullah II
Princess Salma Bint Abdullah II is 23 years old.
- Daughter of King Abdullah II of Jordan, her mother is Queen Rania Al Abdullah.
- Princess Salma is among 4 children of the King of Jordan.
Princess Salma's first official appearance was in September 2021, at the opening of the Women's Military Training Center in Jordan.
She studied at the International Academy School in the capital, Amman, until she graduated in 2018.
She continued her university studies in America, at the University of Southern California.
She then enrolled in an aviation course in Jordan, where her success was celebrated in a solemn ceremony in the presence of King Abdullah II.
She was the first female Jordanian to pass the training course as a basic pilot, holding the rank of first lieutenant.
