The highly anticipated 1 Billion Followers Summit, organised by the New Media Academy, has announced the participation of Egyptian comedian and author Bassem Youssef, who has taken the social media by storm in the past months.
Held at the Emirates Towers and the Museum of the Future on 10 and 11 January 2024 in Dubai, Bassem Youssef will be headlining day 1 activities with his thought-provoking inspirational talk titled “The Dark Side of Making It on Social Media.”
Bassem Youssef will inspire the audience through his unique journey through the ups and downs of his media career, shedding light on the physiological toll of being in the limelight.
His talk will explore the challenges and sacrifices that come with exposure, fame, and monetary success in the world of social media. This insightful talk promises to be a highlight of the ‘Get Together’ track, emphasising the importance of cultivating connections in the content industry.
The 1 Billion Followers Summit is the world’s premier gathering for content creation and creators. With four distinct tracks – Get Creative, Get Ahead, Get Paid, and Get Together – the summit offers a comprehensive experience for content creators seeking to elevate their skills and reach a global audience.
This year’s summit will build upon the success of its first edition, which featured 75+ speakers, 6,500+ attendees, and 40+ sessions and workshops.
The 2024 edition is expected to go even bigger and better, hosting 195 speakers in 100+ expert-led sessions, keynotes and speeches, fireside chats, debates, and workshops. The second edition of the summit anticipates an attendance of 7,000 individuals, including 3,000 content creators.
