In a humanitarian gesture, Al Barsha Police Station in Dubai has taken care of all expenses required to provide the psychological treatment of a European girl known as Arya. B., in addition to housing her in a care-taking centre.
In detail, Al Barsha Police Station received a tip-off from a European woman, who stated that her 14-year-old daughter was absent from home for several days, Brigadier Majid Al Suwaidi, Director of the Station said.
Accordingly, a security team from started search for the reported girl and it was able to find her. They listened to the girl's problem and the reason for her escape, after they found her with features of panic and pain, and worn clothes on skinny body.
The girl was found suffering from a bad psychological condition due to the woman’s negligence of her with inhumanity treatment.
Therefore, it was necessary to provide her with psychological treatment and take care of her, in addition to housing her in a caretaking centre to recover from the ill-treatment she received from that woman.
The police also knew that the woman had adopted the girl in her home country and brought her to live in the UAE in order to obtain a monthly subsidy from her country to take care of her, but it was found that she neglected and mistreated her.
Accordingly, the Diplomatic and Consular Affairs Section at the Criminal Investigations Department at the Dubai Police, and the Contact the Victim Department at Al Barsha Police Station informed the consulate of the gril’s country in Dubai.
This comes with the framework of Dubai Police's interest in the rights of citizens and residents on its territory, and the commitment to provide the necessary protection and care for those who need it, especially in cases of negligence and difficult circumstances such as those experienced by the girl. All legal measures were taken by the competent authorities to ensure rights of the girl are fulfilled.
