A delegation from the Emirates News Agency (WAM) led by Mohamed Jalal Alrayssi, Director-General of WAM, explored cooperation prospects with media institutions in Turkmenistan. The discussions focused on enhancing news exchange to serve the common interests of both countries.
During their visit to various institutions and meetings with Turkmen officials, the delegation extended invitations to participate in the third edition of the Global Media Congress (GMC) scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi in November.
The Congress provides a global platform for media institutions, companies and experts to exchange experiences, build partnerships, and stay updated on the latest developments and innovations in the global media landscape.
The delegation explained that the GMC mainly aims to discuss the current state of the media industry and anticipate its future in light of the rapid developments in technologies affecting this vital field.
During their visit to Turkmenistan, the delegation met with Myahrijemal Mamedova, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan for Culture and Media; Arslan Ashirov, Chairman of the State Committee of Turkmenistan on Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography; and Myakhri Byashimova, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan in the Presence of the UAE Ambassador to Turkmenistan, Ahmed AlHay Hamad KHamis AlHameli. The discussions revolved around strengthening media relations between the UAE and Turkmenistan in areas that can reinforce partnerships, knowledge exchange, cultural understanding, media training and serve mutual interests.
Director-General said that the Turkmen side welcomed collaboration with the Emirates News Agency in various areas.
During the meetings, Alrayssi highlighted the outcomes of the first two editions of the Global Media Congress. He underlined their role in achieving progress and broadening opportunities for communication and cooperation among various peoples of the world in a way that promotes the values of peace and tolerance among diverse cultures and religions.
WAM Director-General said that the Turkmen side welcomed collaboration with the Emirates News Agency in various areas that serve the media sector in both countries."Such collaborative efforts will facilitate the discovery of each country's unique wealth, cultural potential, and economic prospects, paving the way for a synergistic media partnership model that serves both nations' interests," he said.
Alrayssi, emphasised WAM's commitment to building partnerships in the media sector with relevant institutions worldwide and establishing a network of international relations that bolster its presence on the regional and global level as a trusted and distinguished news source.
