The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has revealed that an unstable weather condition will be affecting the country for four days from Wednesday until Saturday.
“This weather condition is a result of an extension of a surface air depression from the southwest, accompanied by humid southeasterly winds with an extension of an air depression in the upper layers of the atmosphere and a westerly air current with the flow of clouds from the southwest. This will lead to the formation of cumulus clouds over scattered parts of the country accompanied by rain,” the NCM said.
The NCM has also expected that the weather on Wednesday will be partly cloudy to cloudy at times over some areas, especially the western and coastal, and extend to the northern areas, with the possibility of rainfall, especially by night.
It further noted that the depression would gradually get stronger on Thursday and Friday, as clouds could increase during those two days over scattered areas with cumulus clouds formation, especially over the northern parts and some coastal eastern areas, accompanied by rain at intervals with a decrease in temperatures. Clouds may decrease on Saturday, while the weather will be relatively cold in general, the NCM added.
According to the NCM’s forecast, the winds during that period will be southeasterly, and then change to northwesterly on Friday, moderate to brisk and strong at times. The winds may stir dust and dirt along the open areas, the NCM said, adding that the sea will be rough to very rough at times in the Arabian Gulf and in the Sea of Oman.
