President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan spoke by telephone on Thursday with Olaf Scholz, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany.
The two leaders discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance them within the framework of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, in addition to a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest.
The call covered developments in the Middle East region, with a particular focus on the latest situation in the Gaza Strip. Both sides stressed the need to protect civilians in Gaza and ensure the safe and sustainable delivery of adequate humanitarian aid.
Sheikh Mohamed and Olaf Scholz also emphasised the importance of intensifying efforts to prevent the conflict from spreading further in the region, and the pressing need to pursue peace based on the two-state solution, which provides a pathway to achieving regional stability for the benefit of all countries and their people.
