The business sector in Dubai has lost one of its pioneers in the commercial and industrial renaissance of the emirate. Hassan Mohammed Bin Al Sheikh, who was Chairman of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry during 1997-2000, after serving as Second Vice-Chair from 1983 to 1997.
Hassan Bin Al Sheikh’s life was a symbol of giving and contribution to Dubai's economic march and the business sector.
Morning his passing, many of officials, business leaders and those who knew him during his career that was full of devotion and perseverance, praised his great role in the Chamber and in many economic sectors.
Bin Al Sheikh founded Hassan Bin Al Sheikh Industries Group (HBAS) in 1959 in Dubai, which quickly grew into a group of successful industrial companies in various fields. The group manufactures paper, sanitary ware, plastics, food industries, and even operates in real estate and general trading.
Today, the group has a series of factories and companies under its umbrella, on the top of them is Hassan Bin Al Sheikh Food Industries, Hassan Bin Al Sheikh Paper, Sanitary and Plastics Factory, Hassan Bin Al Sheikh General Trading Company, Hassan Bin Al Sheikh Real Estate Company, Modern Press and Library, and Modern Food Company.
