The Dubai Criminal Court sentenced an Asian to 10 years in jail to be followed by deportation and fined him Dhs100,000 for bringing and possessing narcotics inside his entrails before the passport inspector caught him at Dubai International Airport.
The case dated back to October last year when a customs inspector at Dubai International Airport suspected the defendant and requested him to declare if he had any narcotics in his possession.
When the defendant denied he had any prohibited in his possession, the customs inspector requested his suitcases to be inspected but he did not find anything illegal.
The inspector, however, noticed that the defendant looked tense and anxious and soon after, the defendant admitted that he had narcotics inside his entrails.
The customs inspector asked the defendant to pass through the full-body scanner, which showed that there was an abnormal mass inside the defendant’s entrails. The police were informed accordingly.
According to a policeman’s testimony in the interrogations, the defendant was transferred to the hospital to remove what was inside his body. The suspected items was referred to the forensic lab, where it was found that the seized items weighing 73 grams were Mephedrone.
On interrogation, the defendant admitted in the interrogations that he brought the narcotics from his home country for personal use and medical treatment.
