Nine Pakistanis were injured after a fire broke out at a sanitiser/perfume-related chemical products facility in Ajman, late on Saturday. They were rushed to different hospitals. Four among the injured were initially taken to Khalifa Bin Zayed Hospital, Ajman, which included Gul Dad, Nawab, Imam Bux, all belonging to Shaheed Benazirabad District (Nawabshah in Sindh) and M. Akram, a resident of District Dera Ghazi Khan, Punjab.
Nawab and Imam Bux were later shifted to Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City Abu Dhabi while the other two are undergoing treatment in the same hospital.
As for the other Pakistani nationals, Ijaz has been admitted to Zayed Hospital Sharjah, Shahid and Zahoor to Kuwait Hospital while Sikandar has been admitted to Al Qassimi Hospital, all in the same emirate. All four are from Shaheed Benazirabad District.
The Welfare Wing’s team is working in coordination with Al Jurf Police Station, Ajman to technically assist in checking the incident site for tracing Akbar, a resident of Dera Ghazi Khan, Punjab who is the ninth victim.
“We are ensuring all possible assistance to the injured Pakistanis. The Welfare Wing of Pakistan’s Consulate General, Dubai visited the hospitals immediately after the unfortunate occurrence and is constantly in touch with the relevant authorities,” said Hussain Muhammad, Consul General.
Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Pakistan’s envoy to the UAE, expressed his best wishes and prayers for the early recovery of the injured. He assured that all possible assistance would be extended to fellow Pakistanis who were affected by the incident.
