Heavy and moderate rain, accompanied by lightning and thunder, fell on various regions of the country since early morning. The downpour caused a noticeable drop in temperatures and led to the flow of water.
The National Centre of Meteorological (NCM) predicts a gradual decrease in the chance of rain from Tuesday evening. Additionally, it asserts that a second weather condition will affect the country from late Thursday night until next Sunday, culminating on Saturday and covering most parts of the country, extending from the west to the east and north.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) called on motorists to take caution while driving under rain and to stay away from large puddles and flooded valleys. Abu Dhabi Police also called on motorists to be cautious due to the rainy weather conditions and to abide by the varying speed limit as shown on the electronic traffic signs.
According to the NCM, the weather, however, will be humid on Tuesday night and on Wednesday morning with a chance of light fog.
Moderate to active southeasterly to northwesterly winds will blow, turning to strong and sand-stirring offshore at 15 to 30 and up to 50 km/h, causing the horizontal visibility to be lower, while the sea will have moderate waves which will become rough in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
Wednesday’s weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy at times in some eastern and southern areas with a chance of rain. Light to moderate northwesterly to northeasterly winds will blow, turning to active at times at 10 to 20 and up to 35 km/h, while the sea will have regular to moderate waves at times in the Arabian Gulf compared to regular waves in the Sea of Oman.
Thursday’s weather will be partly cloudy in general but will become cloudy at night and on Friday morning with some cumulus clouds forming over separate areas, especially the western ones, and rain.
