Abu Dhabi Family and Civil Administrative Cases Court obligated a woman to return Dhs60,000 to a man who had loaned her the amount when she was going through financial hardship and pledged to return it later but she did not.
The details date back to the time when a man filed a lawsuit against a woman, requesting that she be obligated to return Dhs60,000 to him, as well as obligating her to pay the expenses and fees of the lawsuit.
The plaintiff indicated that the appellee was going through financial difficulties and asked him to lend her the money, after she pledged to return it later, but she did not do so.
He attached copies of WhatsApp conversations to the case papers.
The court said that the appellee did not deny receiving the money even though she said it was as a gift, and neither did she deny the WhatsApp conversations, so it decided to direct the complementary oath to the plaintiff, after which it stated that it was proved that the plaintiff loaned the amount to the appellee and did not return it to him. Consequently, it obligated her to return Dhs60,000 to the plaintiff.
