The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) is continuing its aid efforts as part of its Ramadan programmes in Pakistan, providing continuous humanitarian support to the underprivileged across many areas of the country. These Ramadan programmes seek to help underprivileged communities meet their needs during the holy month.
The ERC’s office in Pakistan implemented a project to distribute 800 food parcels in Balochistan province, covering the areas of Pasni, Gwadar, and Panjgur. The project aims to alleviate the suffering of families in these areas who are unable to provide for themselves.
It is part of the UAE’s ongoing journey of giving which covers various parts of the world, under the UAE leadership's directives, as well as the ERC’s drive to expand its international humanitarian projects to reach the largest possible number of people and provide their basic needs.
The ERC launched its seasonal Ramadan campaign under the theme ‘Ramadan Continuous Giving’ before Ramadan began. The campaign will benefit around 1.8 million people in the UAE and 44 countries around the world.
The ERC’s programmes include ‘Iftar Meals’, ‘Zakat Al Fitr’, ‘Eid Clothing’, ‘Ramadan Food Parcels’, and ‘Iftar’, totalling an initial cost of Dhs37.6 million. The ERC has enhanced its Ramadan programmes this year to mitigate the deteriorating living conditions in many countries.
