Pakistan’s Consulate in Dubai hosted an Iftar party in honour of the UAE-based Pakistani journalists and community members at the mission premises.
Welcoming media representatives and community members at the Consulate General of Pakistan in Dubai, Hussain Muhammad, Consul General (CG) appreciated the positive and effective role of the Pakistani media in the UAE.
“You are the bridge between the mission and our community. Your role is crucial in conveying important messages and getting feedback from within the community that is always helpful towards addressing their issues,” said Hussain.
The Consul General said that hosting Iftari was part of the outreach initiative by Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE, to enhance the much-needed communication with Pakistani community living in the United Arab Emirates. He said this while addressing a gathering of the UAE-based media persons and community members in Dubai on Tuesday.

“UAE is a second home to about 1.8 million Pakistanis who are positively contributing towards its development. We are obviously grateful to the host country for utilising services of these Pakistanis who are a source of livelihood for about 2 million families,” emphasised the Consul General.

Hussain said that it is binding on all of us to adhere to local laws, respect norms of the society and pay due regard to the UAE Government policies. He urged the media representatives to play their role in making Pakistanis aware about the country’s laws, that will certainly lead to enhanced compliance.

Afaq Ahmad, Deputy Head of Mission, Pakistan’s Embassy Abu Dhabi, Press Counselor Salah Mohammed and other officers of the Consulate General of Dubai and Embassy in Abu Dhabi also attended the grand Iftar.
The journalists also lauded the Consul General Hussain’s efforts to help the Pakistani community in the UAE.
