Sharjah parking areas will be free during the first, second and third days of Eid Al Fitr, with the exception of areas subject to fees throughout the week and official holidays, which can be known through the blue directional signs, according to Obaid Saeed Al Tunaiji, Director General of Sharjah City Municipality.
Al Taniji explained that inspection teams affiliated with the Public Parking Department would continue their efforts to monitor violations, especially reserving more than one parking space or randomly parking behind vehicles, obstructing traffic, and other wrong practices and behaviours.
“The municipality continues its efforts to provide public parking to the public around the clock throughout the city of Sharjah, especially vital ones, and to prevent their misuse. It has also provided many means of paying fees, such as payment machines and a parking reservation service via SMS, or through various seasonal subscriptions,” Al Taniji added.
The Sharjah City Municipality calls upon the public to contact it around the clock via the call centre at 993 to report any violations or observations.
