A private hospital in Abu Dhabi has welcomed one of the first bundles of joy born on Eid Al Fitr. The proud parents, Sultan Amer Salem Alshamsi, an Emirati national, and Rahma Hellab, a Moroccan national, expressed their gratitude for the safe arrival of their second baby, named Umair. Baby boy Umair was born at 12:01am, weighing 2.89kg.
“This Eid has been doubly blessed for us with the arrival of our little one. We are overjoyed and thankful to the Almighty for baby Umair. We are grateful to the hospital staff for their exceptional care,” said the beaming father.
Dr Khaled Omar, Specialist, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Burjeel Hospital, Abu Dhabi, extended warm congratulations to the Alshamsi family. “Welcoming a new life into the world during such a special time fills our hearts with joy. We wish baby Umair and his family all the happiness. We also extend our warmest Eid greetings to all our patients,” said Dr Omar.

Also during the Eid day, one girl and a boy born at the Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women & Children. Omar Al Naqbi, Acting Chief Executive Officer at Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women & Children, said, “At Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women & Children, we were lucky to welcome two newborns on Eid Al Fitr, doubling the joy of the happy parents. Of the babies born, one was a boy and one was a girl, with one being an Emirati national. With the continuous support and effort of our team of obstetricians, paediatricians, neonatologists, midwives and nurses, Danat Al Emarat Hospital continues to provide newborns and their families with the best possible care and services,” continued Al Naqbi.
The Al Matroshi family from the UAE was the first family to welcome their new baby boy. Born at 06:11am, he was in good health and weighed 2.66kg. The parents named him Mohamed.

On this special day, at 09:55am, a second newborn was delivered at Danat Al Emarat Hospital from the Arsenio family weighing 3.4kg. The parents named her Leonor. "Having our daughter be born on Eid Al Fitr is a wonderful occasion for us. We would like to express our profound gratitude to the team at Danat Al Emarat Hospital for their attentiveness and support. Our baby girl has arrived, and the whole family is overwhelmed with joy and gratitude,” said Skye Edwards Arsenio, father of the newborn.
In line with the Eid Al Fitr celebrations, Danat Al Emarat Hospital distributed flowers and chocolates to all patients and children who were celebrating at the hospital.
In Ras Al Khaimah, a baby girl, (named not given yet) was born at the RAK Hospital at 8:29am, weighting 3.19kg, to an Indian couple from Tamil Nadu.
The new born baby girl’s father, Mohandas Balagurusamy, expressed his happiness in welcoming his second child on this special day.
