The Traffic and Security Patrols Directorate in Abu Dhabi appealed to drivers through a video of real accidents in cooperation with the Control and Follow-up Center to “adhere to traffic safety rules” by not being distracted by anything other than the road while driving to avoid sudden stopping of vehicles without warning on the roads and during the flow of traffic on internal and external roads and to always be aware of road surprises.
It warned drivers of the dangers of being busy due to using the phone to browse the Internet and social networking sites, make a call, take photos, and other behaviors that may lead to serious traffic accidents.
The authorities stated that the fine for not being attentive on the road while driving a vehicle in any way is Dhs800 and 4 traffic points.
