UAE welcomes ICJ decision ordering Israel to halt all assault on Gaza's Rafah

The UAE welcomed the decision of the International Court of Justice to impose additional temporary measures on Israel, demanding that it immediately stop its military operations in the Rafah Governorate, and the aggravation of the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained in a statement that the UAE stresses the importance of reaching an immediate ceasefire, providing protection for civilians, preventing further loss of life, stopping the escalation throughout the occupied Palestinian territory, and alleviating the catastrophic and dangerous humanitarian situation that civilians are experiencing in Gaza due to the aggression and the ongoing Israeli attack on the Gaza Strip.

The Ministry stressed the need to ensure that humanitarian and relief aid reaches the Gaza Strip urgently, sustainably and without obstacles, stressing in this regard the importance of the order issued by the court regarding the necessity of keeping the Rafah crossing open for the entry of humanitarian aid on a large scale and without obstacles.

The Ministry also stressed that the UAE continues to work with great determination with international partners now more than ever to intensify efforts to ensure the arrival and distribution of aid through all available means and methods by land, sea and air to contribute to alleviating the burden of the critical humanitarian conditions faced by the residents of the Gaza Strip due to this war.

The Ministry reaffirmed the UAE's firm call to the international community to strengthen all regional and international efforts to achieve peace and the two-state solution, and that the UAE is steadfast in its commitment to promoting peace and justice, preserving the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people, and establishing an independent, sovereign Palestinian state in line with international legitimacy resolutions.
