Al Ain Court of First Instance obligated a woman to pay Dhs20,000 to another whom she abused and threatened via WhatsApp.
The woman had been convicted in a criminal case upheld by the Appellate Court.
The details dates back to an earlier time when a woman filed a lawsuit against another in which she requested that she be obligated to compensate her for the material and moral damages she incurred with Dhs100,000, in addition to obliging her to pay the fees and expenses of the case.
The plaintiff said that the appellee abused and threatened her via WhatsApp, causing her harm moral and material damages.
The court explained that the appellee’s mistake was proved and had resulted in harm to the plaintiff, as she incurred psychological and material pain, and therefore she had to be legally obligated to compensate the plaintiff for those damages.
Consequently, the court obligated the appellee to pay Dhs20,000 in compensation to the plaintiff for all material and moral damages.
