The General Command of Abu Dhabi Police (ADP) denied on Wednesday the rumours circulated on social media about reduction of the traffic fines by 50% in Abu Dhabi.
ADP explained that 35% of the value of the traffic fine is deducted if it is paid within the first 60 days from the date of its issuance, with the exception of serious violations, and that a 25% discount is granted when the fine is paid after 60 days and for a period of one year from the violation’s commission.
ADP added that installments for traffic fines can be paid through Abu Dhabi Police service centres and digital channels such as the website and smart phone app, for a period of one year with zero interest, and through banks, for a period of 12 months, provided that the credit card paid with is issued by the banks contracting with ADP.
Installments can also be paid through the official platform of “Tamm” or at customer service and happiness centres, where everyone can benefit from the facilities, discounts and services related to early payment of fines and vehicle renewal, according to ADP.
"We are keen to facilitate payment methods to motivate community members to adhere to regulations and laws, reduce traffic fines, reduce the burdens incurred on people, enable them to settle their legal situations and encourage them to pay the fines as early as they can so that they do not accumulate," ADP stressed.
The public have to ensure accuracy before publishing news and information, ADP stressed, calling on community members to avoid spreading and circulating rumors and false information, and to obtain news from official media sources.
