His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, instructed the people concerned to accept an expatriate female students named Malak to study medicine at the University of Sharjah’s College of Medicine with a full special scholarship, thanks to her academic excellence.
The student excelled in her high school and obtained a score of 100 per cent from a private school she was studying at.
This was announced by Mohammed Khalaf, Director General of Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, on the Direct Line programme, where Sheikh Sultan was listening to a woman calling the programme.
The caller said that she was a graduate from the University of Sharjah soon after it was opened and that she had an outstanding daughter, who obtained a high school diploma with a score of 100 per cent from a private school, though her father died last September.
She enrolled her daughter in University of Sharjah’s College of Medicine, where she was told that she must pay the first installment estimated at about Dhs28,000 by no later than July 28, the caller added, noting that she did not have a source of income to pay the installment and was afraid her daughter might lose her college seat.
Quoting Sheikh Sultan’s immediate response to the caller, Khalaf passed Sheikh Sultan’s regards to her and told her that he ordered a full special scholarship to her daughter for her distinguished academic attainment.
