The security teams at the Dubai Police have successfully apprehended a young man who was seen in a video clip on a social media site performing dangerous stunts in Nad Al Sheba area.
The man was driving his vehicle on two wheels, violating traffic laws and putting his life and the lives of others at risk.
The young man's vehicle, which he used in stunts, has been impounded, Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, Deputy Director of the General Directorate of Traffic at Dubai Police, said.
He also indicated that the driver of the vehicle in question had been identified and duly summoned. Upon being questioned, the driver admitted to his actions and the legal consequences that would ensue.
Consequently, the vehicle was impounded and the driver was subjected to legal proceedings.
Furthermore, Brigadier Juma Bin Suwaidan explained that, in accordance with the stipulations outlined in Decree 30 of 2023 concerning vehicle impounding, a fine of up to Dhs50,000 would be imposed to release the vehicle in question.
He cautioned motorists against engaging in reckless driving practices that could endanger their own lives or the lives, safety, or security of others, or driving in a manner that could damage the road.
He emphasised that in such cases, the motorists in question will be subject to legal action, including the impounding of their vehicles or bikes.
