His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has directed to construct a large mosque on the primary thoroughfare adjacent to the Hanging Gardens in Kalba.
This mosque is intended to serve the needs of both visitors and those who traverse the area. It will have a seating capacity for 435 worshippers and will also include a car park.
This was announced through the 'Direct Line' programme by Mohammed Khalaf, Director General of the Sharjah Broadcast Authority (SBA).
He also revealed a number of significant projects initiated by His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah in the Central Region, scheduled for completion next year.
He stated that 2025 would be a notable year for the people of the Central Region and the UAE as a whole.
It will see opening of the dairy factory in Mleiha, the commencement of production at the chicken farm, the production of organic honey, as well as vegetable farms.
Additionally, the Department of Agriculture and Livestock has been directed to increase the inter-cropping areas in the wheat farm to 1,900 hectares from 1,428, while increasing the greenhouses from two hectares to eight hectares.
Sheikh Sultan also directed to import selected breeds of sheep and to be distributed in the pastures, as well as increasing the dairy cow herd at Mleiha Farm to 8,000 from 5,000, with a corresponding rise in births to 160.
Furthermore, the year 2025 was set as the deadline for the completion of the Dhaid lagoon project.
