On Saturday, various areas across the country witnessed precipitation and the formation of fog, due to the influence of an extended shallow air depression originating from the east. This was accompanied by an expansion of atmospheric height in the upper atmosphere, according to the National Centre of meteorology ( NCM).
Rain fell across the eastern coastline, with fog forming in Zayed City and Bada Dafaas in Al Dhafra region, Abu Dhabi. The lowest temperature recorded in the country on Saturday was 24.1°C in Jabal Al Hibn in Ras Al Khaimah at 7:00 am, the NCM said.
The NCM has forecast that the weather on Sunday will be predominantly clear, with the potential for partial cloud cover on the east coast. However, clouds are anticipated to increase in the east and south during the afternoon, leading to precipitation in the west during the night and on Monday morning. Additionally, winds are expected to be southeasterly to northeasterly with moderate to high speed, and occasionally active. They may result in dust and sand, particularly in the northern and eastern regions, with speeds ranging from 15 to 30 km/h. The Arabian Gulf may see minor disturbances in the form of light to medium waves, while it will be moderate to rough in the Sea of Oman.
The NCM has also forecast that the Monday's weather will be cloudy to partially cloudy, with the potential for cumulonimbus formation in some eastern and southern parts. Winds are expected to be southeasterly to northeasterly, with speeds ranging from light to moderate, and may occasionally reach speeds of 15 to 40 km/h. These winds will stir up dust and sand. The sea will experience light to medium waves, with the possibility of increased turbulence in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
The weather on Tuesday is expected to be partly cloudy to occasionally cloudy in some areas, with a probability of precipitation in the eastern and southern regions. Additionally, temperature may decrease, while the winds will be southeasterly to northeasterly with speed of moderate to strong, and occasionally active. The sea is anticipated to be moderate to turbulent in the Arabian Gulf and in the Sea of Oman.
The Wednesday’s weather is expected to partially cloudy, with the potential for precipitation in the eastern and southern regions. Additionally, a further decline in temperature is anticipated, accompanied by winds originating from the southeast to northeast direction, exhibiting a speed of 15 to 30 km/h, and occasionally reaching 40 km/h. These winds are anticipated to be moderate to strong, with occasional gusts, and are expected to result in moderate to strong waves in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
