The Police Follow-up and Aftercare Department at Abu Dhabi Police launched an initiative to reduce black points and recover suspended driving licences (for drivers with 24 black points) as part of its participation in the 21st edition of the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition.
The exhibition is currently being held at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) under the slogan of ‘Sustainability and heritage in a renewed spirit’ until September 8, 2024.
Brigadier Ahmed Juma Al Khaili, Director of Police Follow-up and Aftercare Department, stated that the department’s platform is currently receiving visitors to avail of the service, which is one of Abu Dhabi Police’s approved services, noting that drivers of light vehicles who had 8 to 23 black points would benefit from this service.
The service of recovering suspended driving licences is interesting for drivers who have 24 black points, said Lieutenant Colonel Nahyan Mohammed Bin Zaytoun Al Muhairi, Head of Black Points Programmes Section.
Drivers would have to complete the procedures of transferring the black points to their driving licences via the Tamm app or by visiting the customer happiness centres at the Traffic and Security Patrols Directorate, he added.
Later, they should head to counter 7 in the weapons wing at the exhibition and pay the fees (Dhs800) for reducing the black points and Dhs2,400 for recovering suspended driving licences before attending the scheduled course, which will be held at 4pm at the auditorium of Knowledge Centre opposite Gate No. 5, he said.
