The Sharjah Police's 'Reconciliation is Good' initiative, which aims at settling financial disputes and reconciling parties, has achieved notable success, reaching 385 reconciliation cases during the first half of the current year (2024).
The initiative has successfully returned more than Dhs20.160 million, to their rightful owners, circumventing the necessity for recourse to the judiciary.
In a statement released by the Comprehensive Police Stations Department, Director Brigadier Yusuf Obaid Bin Hurmoul highlighted the ongoing efforts of the 'Reconciliation is Good' initiative, now in its fourteenth year of operation.
He emphasised the initiative's commitment to safeguarding the rights of complainants from institutional and individual abuse, preserving relations between parties involved in disputes, and facilitating the amicable recovery of rights for plaintiffs.
This, he asserted, serves to reinforce social cohesion and minimise the scope of disputes, steering them away from the formal judicial system.
The initiative has yielded tangible, positive results in the form of the resolution of disputes and the identification of appropriate solutions that contribute to the preservation of human and social relations, he stated.
