Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, officially laid the foundation stone for two significant projects: Al Reeh Al Mursala Dispensary and A Drinking Water Network in the village of Oktyabr, Kyrgyz Republic. The projects are funded by the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority in collaboration with the Sharjah Charity International.
Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed highlighted the significance of charitable initiatives and humanitarian efforts focused on assisting those in need, such as building hospitals, aiding patients, and establishing clean water systems globally. He has further emphasised the commitment of the UAE, especially Sharjah, to these initiatives, in line with the directives of the nation’s wise leadership in promoting a safe and healthy life for everyone.
The dispensary, offering a variety of medical services, and the drinking water treatment system intended for the Oktyabr region are key components of a continuing series of charitable initiatives. These initiatives commenced in Aswan, Egypt, in July and are set to expand to additional countries, aiming to maximise healthcare availability for the general public.
Commenting on this, Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed explained that the main objective of these initiatives is to provide healthcare services to individuals who are unable to afford them, in addition to delivering charitable assistance to those who are most in need. He thanked the donors and contributors who have significantly influenced these initiatives with their generous support for various charitable programmes like “Pain and Hope” and “Al Reeh Al Mursala,” which highlight humanitarian cases.

Upon arriving at the project site, Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed planted trees and laid the foundation stone for the Al Reeh Al Mursala Dispensary. He then visited an exhibition that highlighted plans and details regarding the new facility, which will span 350 square metres and provide a range of specialities, including general medicine, consultancy services, radiology, obstetrics, gynaecology, and medical laboratories.
The dispensary is anticipated to provide medical services to approximately 14,000 residents in Oktyabr and the surrounding regions. He was briefed also on the expansion plans aimed at enhancing capacity and increasing the range of medical services, ensuring they effectively address the healthcare needs of the region’s increasing population.
Addressing a challenge: In his speech, the Governor of the Oktyabr region extended a warm welcome to Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed and conveyed his appreciation for Sharjah’s charitable initiatives. He pointed out that before this initiative, residents faced the challenge of travelling long distances to obtain healthcare because of the lack of local facilities. The newly established dispensary is set to enhance access to medical services for everyone in the region.

Next, Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed visited the location of the new drinking water network, designed to serve the entire Oktyabr region and mitigate waterborne diseases linked to contaminated water. Sheikh Sultan laid the foundation stone for the new drinking water network, which includes a 15,000-metre water pipeline connected to an artesian well, along with a 21,000-gallon water tank, supported by modern water supply connections for 700 homes, serving a total of 4,000 residents.
His Highness was presented with traditional gifts from the local delegation and posed for a group photo alongside officials and community members. “Al Reeh Al Mursala” radio programme is aired each year during the month of Ramadan in partnership with the Sharjah Charity International. It highlights a range of charitable and humanitarian campaigns, motivating benefactors to support initiatives in remote regions spanning 110 countries globally.
Attending the foundation stone ceremony were Sheikh Saqr Bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Charity International (SCI); Muhammad Hassan Khalaf, Director General of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority; Tariq Saeed Allay, Director General of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau; Hassan Yaqoub Al Mansouri, Secretary-General of the Sharjah Media Council; Rashid Abdullah Al Obeid, Director of Sharjah Media City “Shams”; Salem Ali Al Ghaithi, Director of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority; Abdullah Sultan Bin Khadim, Executive Director of the Sharjah Charity International, and several local officials from the Oktyabr region in Kyrgyz Republic.
