Various areas of theUAE on Tuesday experienced rainfall ranging from moderate to heavy, due to the influence of an extended shallow air depression, coupled with an extended air depression in the upper atmosphere, as reported by the National Centre for Meteorology (NCM).
Moderate precipitation was observed in Wadi Ghalila, Wadi Al Ajili, Jabal Mabarah, and on the Shawkah-Al Munai'i road in Ras Al Khaimah. Additionally, heavy precipitation was recorded on Al Watan Road in the vicinity of Wadi Al Qur, Wadi Tawi, and other dispersed locations across the country.
The lowest recorded temperature in the country on Tuesday was 18.1°C at Jabal Jais in Ras Al Khaimah at 02:00 am. This was followed by the second lowest temperature, which was recorded at 19.9°C at Jabal Al Rahba.
The NCM has advised the public to exercise caution and care when driving in the event of rainfall, and to avoid areas where water accumulates and surface run-offs.
In light of the prevailing meteorological conditions, the Abu Dhabi Police have issued a call to drivers to exercise caution on the road and to adhere to the variable speed limits indicated on electronic signage and signboards.
In regard to Wednesday's weather, the NCM has forecast that conditions will be clear to partly cloudy, particularly in the eastern areas, with the possibility of precipitation at night and on Thursday morning in coastal and inland areas. Winds are expected to be southwesterly to northeasterly, with speeds ranging from 10 to 25 km/h, and sea conditions are anticipated to be light in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
The NCM also stated that the weather on Thursday would be typically clear, with occasional partial cloud cover, and humidity at night and on Friday morning. The potential for fog or light fog to form in some coastal and inland areas is also a possibility. Winds are southeasterly to northwesterly, with speeds ranging from light to moderate. The speed of winds over the sea is sometimes active, with speeds ranging from 10 to 25 up to 40 km/h. The sea will be light to medium waves, which may disturb the west on Friday morning in the Arabian Gulf and light waves in the Sea of Oman.
The Friday’s weather is forecast to be cloudy in general, with the potential for partial cloudiness. Humidity levels are expected to reach their peak overnight and in the early hours of Saturday morning. There is a possibility of fog or light fog forming in some inland regions. Winds are expected to be southwesterly to northwesterly in direction and of a moderate to low speed, with a notable activity on the sea. The speed of these winds is expected to reach 15 to 25 km/h. The sea is expected to exhibit medium to high waves in the Arabian Gulf and light to medium waves in the Sea of Oman.
The weather on Saturday is expected to be generally clear, with occasional partial cloud cover. There will be a slight decline in temperatures, and humidity levels are expected to be high at night and on Sunday morning, with the potential for light fog to form in some inland areas. Winds are expected to be southwesterly to northwest, with speeds ranging from light to moderate, reaching speeds of 15 to 25 up to 40 km/h. The sea is expected to exhibit turbulent to medium waves in the Arabian Gulf and light to medium waves in the Sea of Oman.
